Taken
You were taken from me
And I grieved through tears
Of Loneliness
Your death
As only a father can Grieve
The loss of his child,
The loss of his children
But you're still alive
And sometimes I forget
Because I'm not there
To see your smile
Or wipe away your tears
I love when we hug
We have our moments
You and I
So precious and few
Like visits from a ghost
I wish I was more for you
And I grieved through tears
Of Loneliness
Your death
As only a father can Grieve
The loss of his child,
The loss of his children
But you're still alive
And sometimes I forget
Because I'm not there
To see your smile
Or wipe away your tears
I love when we hug
We have our moments
You and I
So precious and few
Like visits from a ghost
I wish I was more for you

Evocative. *wistful sigh* The title and the ending have so much impact. Thank you for sharing the depth of your words. ^_^
I've also read other poems on this page; I've relished reading "Sweet Sorrow" and "The Candle." Hope you write more.
